This knife is the embodiment of the rich historical heritage of Cossack plastons, modeled after the legendary plast knife, specially adapted for modern conditions and discerning users.
Its blade is made of high—grade Damascus steel with a hardness of 62 HRC, a premium combination that provides outstanding cutting ability, wear resistance, and long-lasting edge sharpness.
A special forging technique gives the damascus not only a unique appearance (a characteristic "pattern" on the blade), but also an internal layering, due to which harmony between hardness and some elasticity is realized.
The black hornbeam handle with duralumin inserts not only organically combines with the aesthetics of the blade, but also provides a high level of strength, resistance to moisture and rot. Black hornbeam is famous for its density, smoothness and pleasant tactility, while it does not slip even with a wet grip, and duralumin details add lightness to the structure without loss of durability.
The trailing point blade is characterized by a raised tip and a long-lasting cutting edge. This geometry is ideal for filigree, long cuts and precise edge control, which are in demand during cutting, skinning, outdoor cooking and other delicate jobs.

Optimal tasks and application conditions
Retention, weather resistance, Care
The handle made of black hornbeam, which has a natural density and light texture, confidently rests in the hand in both dry and wet grip. Due to the properties of wood and duralumin, the knife resists moisture well and does not require special care, however, Damascus steel needs regular drying and lubrication to prevent corrosion (especially during prolonged storage or in conditions of high humidity).
Damask, despite its high hardness (62 HRC), retains its sharpness perfectly, which is especially important when working intensively on meat, leather and other medium-hard materials. Due to the steel structure, the knife is quite easy to edit and regularly sharpen with medium-grain abrasives.
Advantages and limitations
- Advantages:
- High aesthetics — unique Damascus steel pattern, expressive handle appearance.
- Excellent cutting edge durability, minimal sharpening frequency when used correctly.
- Ergonomic, non-slip and moisture-resistant handle.
- Historical design that enhances the status of the owner.
- Versatility for field work, hunting and hiking tasks.
- Restrictions:
- It is not recommended for heavy cutting loads — the shape of the trailing point is less resistant to transverse overloads.
- Damascus steel requires thorough care — do not leave it wet, exclude prolonged contact with aggressive media.
- It is not intended for work on particularly hard or abrasive materials (stone, metal, etc.).
Recommendations and conclusions
This knife is an ideal choice for connoisseurs of history, collectors, experienced hikers and hunters who appreciate the combination of handwork, aesthetics of premium materials and practical efficiency. It will become a reliable companion on a hike, hunting trip and a worthy exhibit in the collection. For urban EDC tasks or heavy "survival" use, it is not so versatile due to the shape features and maintenance requirements of Damascus steel.
Care recommendations: After use, clean and dry the blade, periodically apply a light oil for preservation. The handle does not require special treatment, but it is advisable to avoid prolonged exposure to moisture to preserve the natural shine of hornbeam.
Output: This knife is an exceptional choice for those who appreciate cult traditions, handwork and are looking for a versatile tool for field tasks, hunting or collection. For extreme "power" loads and work on superhard materials, we recommend choosing a knife of a different shape and composition.
Основными критериями выбора были:
- хорошие режущие св-ва;
- высокая твёрдость при хорошем держаке заточки;
