The knife is made of D2 tool steel, known for its combination of high hardness (up to 64 HRC), wear resistance and excellent cutting properties. D2 steel has excellent cutting edge retention: blades made of this steel stay sharp longer even during intensive work. The blade's 2.4mm thickness and 135 mm length ensure a balance between precision and durability, allowing the knife to be used for both filigree and moderate strength work.
Due to the properties of D2 steel, the knife is great for hiking, hunting, fishing, and also as a versatile knife for hiking. The lightweight and comfortable birch bark handle makes this knife ideal for long—term work: cutting game, preparing food, small carpentry tasks (sharpening pegs, processing wood) - everything is possible without palm fatigue. At the same time, the high hardness of the blade limits the possibilities of working on particularly hard and mineral materials: the knife is not recommended for cutting bones, opening iron cans, lever loads and similar tasks requiring extreme fracture strength.
The high carbon and chromium content in D2 steel ensures outstanding hardness and wear resistance: the knife retains its sharpness for a long time, even during daily use on wood, leather, and products. At the same time, D2 steel requires the use of properly selected abrasives when sharpening — home sharpening is possible, but it is recommended to use fine-grained stones or professional systems. The birch bark handle is resistant to moisture and does not absorb odors, but to preserve aesthetics and durability, it is recommended to periodically treat it with natural oils or wax.
After each use, wash and wipe the knife thoroughly, especially when in contact with moisture or an aggressive environment. For long-term storage, it is recommended to lightly lubricate the blade with special oil. Keep the birch bark handle in excellent condition, sometimes treating it with natural oils.Technical analysis: materials, shape and construction
The handle is made of natural birch bark, an eco—friendly, warm and lightweight material that fits perfectly in the hand and prevents slipping even in wet conditions. The handle length of 125 mm is optimal for a secure grip in both "forward" and "reverse" grips, as well as when working with gloves. It is equipped with a sheath made of genuine leather, providing safe and durable storage and transportation.
Scope of application and operational features
D2 is semi—rusting steel, meaning it is well protected from corrosion, but requires wiping and maintenance during prolonged contact with moisture or aggressive environments (salt water, acids) to eliminate plaque and stains.

Care recommendations and conclusions on applicability
A brief recommendation: This knife is an ideal choice for hunters, fishermen, tourists and connoisseurs of handmade work who value reliability, comfort and environmental friendliness of materials. It is a practical companion for hiking, fishing and field cooking. For tasks involving heavy force loads on the blade or prolonged exposure to seawater, it is recommended to choose more specialized solutions. If you value handmade, natural materials and want to get a functional, durable knife with a classic character, this option is for you.
