Detailed analysis of characteristics and features
Blade steel — X12MF (HRC 61-62): This choice creates a truly outstanding blade work surface. X12MF is a high—carbon tool steel with excellent hardness (61-62 HRC), which provides excellent wear resistance and long-lasting sharpening. The blade made of such steel is excellent for work where a sharp cut and durability of the cutting edge are important. However, like most high-carbon steels, X12MF requires attention to care: prolonged exposure to moisture or aggressive environments may cause corrosion, so it is recommended to regularly wipe and lubricate the blade after use.
The shape of the blade is Yakut: The Yakut profile has been honed by the northern peoples for centuries for universal tasks: from cutting fish and meat to fine household work and woodworking. The main feature is an asymmetric sharpening with a deep groove on one side, which ensures minimal adhesion of the material to the blade, facilitating long and laborious work. This geometry facilitates controlled, precise cutting and minimizes sticking in the product, which is especially valuable when cutting animals or cooking in the field.
Handle — Karelian birch (purple): Karelian birch is one of the most beautiful and valuable natural materials. It has a high density, hardness and a unique texture. This handle is not only aesthetically advantageous, but also fits perfectly in the hand, does not slip even in wet conditions, ensuring confident and safe handling of the knife. Coloring gives personality to each piece, making your knife truly unique.
Working dimensions: The 170 mm long and 4 mm thick blade, combined with a 27 mm wide blade, is optimized for versatile field and household tasks: it is sufficient for confident cutting, cutting, and planing, but it does not lose its maneuverability.
Scabbard — genuine leather: The classic leather scabbard provides reliable and long—lasting storage in all conditions, convenient transportation and additional protection of the blade from the environment.
Optimal application areas and limitations
- Is optimal for:
      - Hunting and fishing — thanks to its historically proven shape and steel, the knife perfectly copes with cutting carcasses, skinning, and processing fish.
- Tourism and bushcraft — resistance to stress and ease of maintaining sharpness make it an excellent field assistant.
- Outdoor kitchen tasks — the shape of the blade is convenient for slicing meat, vegetables and working with dough, while the valley facilitates the separation of adhering materials.
- Handicrafts and woodwork — planing, chip removal – the Yakut shape gives exceptional control and precision.
- Collectibles and gifts — the unique Karelian birch handle sets the knife apart from its analogues, and the handmade adds special value.

- Restrictions:
      - It is not recommended for heavy batoning and cutting of large branches: 4 mm is a sufficient thickness for universal tasks, but not a substitute for an axe or a heavy tourist knife.
- Requires care: X12MF is susceptible to corrosion during prolonged contact with moisture — the knife should not be left wet or stored without drying and lubrication.
- It is not suitable for aggressive contact work with hard metal, stone, concrete — tool steel can chip if used improperly.

Key advantages and unique points
- High wear resistance of X12MF steel: long-term preservation of sharpness even during intensive operation.
- The asymmetric Yakut sharpening is the best choice for precise work and minimizing the adhesion of materials to the blade.
- Ergonomic handle made of Karelian birch: anatomical shape, slip-resistant, spectacular aesthetics.
- Handmade and unique texture: each knife is unique.
- Leather scabbard — safety in storage, history and classics in every detail.
Care recommendations
- Wipe the blade dry after each use; apply a thin layer of oil during long-term storage.
- Do not leave the knife in wet conditions, especially without a sheath.
- For the handle, use special oils for natural wood to emphasize the structure of Karelian birch and keep it from drying out.
- It is recommended to edit and sharpen the blade on medium-grain water stones; steel X12MF holds the cutting edge well, but requires careful attention when sharpening.
Summary of the final recommendation
This knife will become an indispensable companion for hunters, fishermen and outdoor enthusiasts who highly appreciate handmade work and the combination of traditions with modern materials. It is recommended for those who are looking for a reliable and beautiful tool for daily use in nature and at home, subject to regular care. For heavy chopping tasks or work on hard materials, choose specialized models.
