Detailed analysis of the characteristics and features of the knife
Blade material: Forged steel 95X18
The blade is based on high-quality forged 95X18 steel, widely known in the knife industry due to its balanced combination of strength, corrosion resistance and wear resistance. This steel is characterized by a hardness of 58 HRC, which ensures excellent retention of sharpening during active use and at the same time allows repeated manual sharpening without the need for specialized equipment. The unique advantage of the 95X18 is its high resistance to corrosion — the knife perfectly tolerates work in a humid environment, is not afraid of contact with food or water, which greatly facilitates maintenance and expands the range of applications.
Handle material: Birch bark
The handle is made of carefully processed pressed birch bark, a material that is traditionally valued for its natural warm tactility and excellent grip even in wet conditions or at low temperatures. Birch bark effectively prevents slipping, promotes comfort even during prolonged use, and does not cause palm fatigue due to its perfectly matched shape and moderate diameter.
Blade shape: Clip-point
The classic clip-point blade shape provides versatility and high handling. The pointed tip is ideal for precision work — cutting, thinning, piercing, and the long cutting edge does an excellent job with slicing and other household tasks. A blade with a length of 133 mm and a thickness of 2.4 mm is the optimal balance between maneuverability and durability.
Wear resistance and durability
Due to its forging and steel grade, the knife is characterized by excellent wear resistance, chip resistance and deformation. Steel 95X18, with a hardness of 58 HRC, retains its working sharpness for a long time and does not require frequent sharpening, even during intensive outdoor use.
Ease of maintenance and maintenance
95X18 steel is unpretentious: the knife does not require complicated care procedures, it is enough to wash and wipe dry regularly. It is advisable to occasionally treat a birch bark handle with natural oil or wax to maintain its water-repellent properties and prevent cracking.
Grip safety and control
The well-thought-out ergonomics of the handle and its material ensure a reliable grip in all weather conditions. The knife fits comfortably in your hand and does not slip out even in wet palms, which makes it an excellent choice for hiking, fishing and country work.
Optimal tasks and application limitations
- Best application area: The knife is perfect for hiking, hunting, fishing, camping and universal household tasks in nature. Its light weight and compact size make it an ideal companion for outdoor activities and trips to nature. Thanks to its convenient blade and corrosion-resistant steel, it is indispensable in the kitchen for cutting food, as well as when working with wood (sharpening pegs, cleaning fish, etc.).
- Restrictions: The knife is not intended for heavy metal work, opening metal or very hard materials, or as a machete for chopping thick branches. The shape of the clip-point blade is not optimal for heavy chopping work and it is not recommended to use the knife as a tool for prying or "crowbar".
Unique advantages that distinguish the knife
- The hand-forged blade guarantees the individuality of each product and the highest quality of processing.
- Choosing birch bark for the handle is not only a tribute to tradition, but also a practical solution for grip comfort and safety even in extreme weather conditions.
- The classic clip-point blade shape is versatile and stylish with a historical legacy of hunting and camping knives.
- The optimal combination of hardness and corrosion resistance of 95X18 steel allows you to use the knife both in everyday life and in difficult weather conditions, without fear of rust and rapid loss of sharpness.
Recommendations and conclusions
This knife will be a reliable choice for connoisseurs of high-quality handmade, those who are looking for a versatile tool for tourism, fishing, hunting or everyday tasks in nature. It is especially recommended for fans of outdoor activities who value durability, grip safety and ease of care.
It is not recommended for heavy construction or chopping work and chopping large workpieces.
Care advice: Wash the blade regularly after use and wipe it dry, and occasionally treat the birch bark handle with natural oils or wax to preserve its properties and aesthetics.
