KH12MF is one of the best Russian–made tool steels, famous for its highest hardness (61-62 HRC) and excellent wear resistance. Due to its high chromium content, the steel demonstrates corrosion resistance and ensures reliable operation even in conditions of high humidity. The hardness characteristic of the X12MF makes it possible to maintain the sharpness of the cutting edge for a long time — the knife does not require frequent sharpening, even with intensive use in hunting and in everyday life. However, due to its high hardness, steel is more sensitive to transverse loads: it is not recommended to use the knife for cutting bones or opening hard materials, where a fracture or chipping is possible.
The handle combines two valuable species — stabilized Karelian birch and black hornbeam. Stabilization provides excellent moisture resistance and durability: wood is not afraid of temperature fluctuations, does not swell or crack when used outdoors. Black hornbeam is known for its durability and resistance to mechanical influences, as well as its noble appearance.
