X12MF is a chrome—plated tool steel known for its high hardness (61-62 HRC), exceptional wear resistance and the ability to maintain cutting edge sharpness for a long time. It is an ideal choice for knives that require an “indelible” cut for a long time without frequent sharpening. Chromium in the composition provides decent corrosion resistance for tool steels, however, like all high-carbon alloys, it requires attention to care.
