Blade steel — HV5
HV5 is a high–carbon tool steel characterized by outstanding hardness (up to 65 HRC). Due to this, the knife has a high cutting edge resistance: the blade retains its sharpness for a long time even when constantly working with hard materials such as wood, leather, ropes. The wear resistance of the HV5 is extremely high — the knife can withstand prolonged loads without noticeable damage or jamming.
However, like most high-carbon steels, HV5 has low corrosion resistance. Therefore, the knife requires regular maintenance: wiping and drying after use, as well as periodic treatment of the blade with a thin layer of oil to prevent rust. -
Handle — Birch bark
