Technical analysis and features of the knife
Blade steel — Elmax (hardness 63 HRC):
Elmax is a modern premium powder steel recognized for its incredible combination of wear resistance, corrosion resistance and excellent cutting properties. The hardness of 63 HRC guarantees excellent retention of the cutting edge even during intensive use. Due to the content of chromium, vanadium and molybdenum, steel has an exceptionally high resistance to moisture and is not susceptible to corrosion even when in contact with aggressive media. At the same time, the polished satin finish of the blade contributes to even greater stain resistance and facilitates care.
Blade Shape — Normal Blade:
The classic traditional shape of the "normal blade" is versatile in use.: it provides an excellent balance between penetration and cutting control. This geometry of the blade makes it easy to work on food, wood, hide and other materials, while maintaining confident control of the blade. The blade thickness of 3.5 mm with a length of 128 mm makes the knife strong enough for medium loads, but not excessively heavy for delicate operations.
Handle — Karelian birch (purple):
Karelian birch is one of the most aesthetically expressive and practical materials for handles: durable, lightweight, resistant to deformation due to its dense structure. Due to the manual processing, each handle is unique and has an individual pattern. The material feels good in the hand, does not slip even in wet conditions, and impregnation and polishing enhance moisture resistance and ensure durability. The handle shape (125 mm) is designed for a firm grip, even with gloves or when working in difficult weather conditions.
Wear resistance, corrosion resistance, Maintenance:
The high hardness of Elmax minimizes the frequency of sharpening — the knife retains its sharpness for a long time even during active use. Steel is easily sharpened with modern abrasives, does not require special care — it is enough to wash and dry after use. The Karelian birch handle needs to be treated with special oil or wax for wood from time to time in order to maintain its rich color and structure. The leather scabbard provides reliable and secure storage, protecting the blade and hilt from external influences.
Optimal tasks and applications
- Hiking, hiking, bushcraft — for universal tasks: cutting food, woodwork, kindling preparation, light cutting of not too large game.
- Hunting is a versatile field knife for cleaning trophies, removing and processing skins.
- Fishing — it can easily handle fish preparation, bait cutting and other tasks near the water.
- Kitchen (field conditions) — a neat and powerful cutter, suitable for slicing vegetables, butchering meat and other products.
- Collectibles — thanks to the handmade and unique structure of Karelian birch, the knife will stand out favorably in any collection.
Operating restrictions and recommendations
-
It is not designed for heavy butoning of large logs or cutting of bones — the standard thickness of the blade is designed for steady work on wood, but not for excessive loads.
- It is not recommended to use as a pry bar or crowbar — the high hardness of Elmax gives excellent cutting edge resistance, but reduces ductility under rough loads.
- For work involving prolonged exposure to aggressive environments (salty sea water), more careful care is required — rinse and wipe the blade and handle after use.
Brief recommendations: who is this knife for
An ideal choice for active travelers, hunters, hikers, anglers, and handmade connoisseurs who value durability, high cutting power, and premium appearance. It is perfect as a stylish and practical gift, as well as as a collector's item. It is not recommended for heavy chopping and extreme loads.
Care: Rinse and wipe the blade dry after use, and periodically wax or oil the handle. Keep the knife in a dry place in the sheath.
